Wow! Time Flies
I can’t believe a whole month has passed, since I last posted. It has been quite the busy month. I now have two official adults, 18 and 21. I’m not sure where those cute babies and then sarcastic teenagers have gone. I am thrilled at the beautiful young ladies they have become, though. It does warm my heart, that they think I am sweet and amazing. They have always thought LG is amazing. I really need to record that, but they do it randomly. I have saved the Snapchats and texts, so I have proof. Actually, it’s just so nice to reread, when I need a boost of love.
You know the saying, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?” Well, what happens when we visit the girls, now will be travelling with the three of us forever. KG has wanted a tattoo for years and we told her she will have to wait until she turns 18. LG and I hadn’t been there 15 minutes before the “do you want to get matching tattoos?” was brought up. LG is not a tattoo kind of guy. Somehow, CG was also on board to get one, so we did. The girls decided on three swallows, since mud swallows have built nests at all the houses we have lived in. The three represents the other members of the family, since it’s the four of us. So mine represents LG, CG, and KG. Theirs represent me, LG, and each other. It was fun finding a place at the last minute, but we did. As a bonus for the same price, I had my original one touched up. I never planned on getting any tattoos. The first one was a dare and a naive 21 year old me didn’t realized that anything I wanted could be drawn. I honestly thought if it wasn’t on the wall, I wouldn’t get one. Well, I’m thankful that both of mine have a good story. The girls first ones have a good story too. I’m honored that they wanted to include me, too.
I have also inherited cat number six. Yes, I now have six cats and wasn’t planning on increasing the herd. However, I have Delcambre’s brother, that CG talked me in to taking last year. Good thing, I have a big enough house for them to all have their own space. We aren’t moving any time soon, so it should all be fine. He’s fitting in great and not trying to be top cat or anything. He’s just a very chill, sweet boy. The only thing is that he wants to go outside. I’m going to compromise and try a harness and taking walks. I will be waving my crazy flag for all the neighbors to see. Those closest to me already embrace or put up with my form of crazy, thankfully.
The girls were down this week for dentist appointments. I was nice to see them. Their dog, Brutus, was a crazy boy as usual. He always breaks something and this time was no different. I really need to move the nightlight in the living room, when he is here. He has broken that and the face plate twice now. Our dog, Princess, decided the second night that she was done with Brutus and they had a couple of fights. They were put in separate rooms. Reminds me of my girls growing up. However, I know not to let the dogs “figure it out.”
While the girls were here, we got out the Wii and did some Just Dance. I have been looking for different ways to exercise and get healthy. Earlier in the month, I remembered we had the Wii and the idea of using Just Dance for exercise was born. LG enjoyed watching me and telling the girls about it. I was finally able to get him to do it with me, including Barbie Girl. I don’t know how he can score higher than all of us, when he doesn’t dance. He never played that game, even when the girls were growing up. Anyway, I just ignore the scores and am happy to have him as my exercise partner. Since this was the first time I wasn’t dancing, I recorded LG and the girls. It was great to watch. I’m not allowed to post the evidence, though. You can use your imagination.
A good time was had by all and now my house is quiet again. I know some parents don’t like the quiet of an empty nest, but I revel in it. It is in the quiet moments, that I get recharged and start thinking of what I get to do next. I told the girls that LG and I are enjoying a honeymoon like period. We are like kids again and it is so much fun. He has always been good entertainment and just fun to hang out with. It sure is different when it’s just the two of us.

You’re remarking about how it has been a month since you blogged and I’m just sitting here shaking my head and hanging it low over how ridiculously long it took me to get here! Thankfully, now I have put your sweet little blog into my reader (after dusting the cobwebs from it) and we’re good to go! 🙂
I’m glad you may cohost with me! You know, podcasting is the bloggers bff. 🙂
